Job Description

The Assistant Video Editor Intern will support all editor functions including preparing materials for project edit, exporting, and finishing. Qualified candidates should be knowledgeable in the fundamentals of good storytelling. The Assistant Video Editor Intern must have a strong sense for collaboration and problem solving.

 

 Requirements

  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite software (especially with Adobe Premiere) or Final Cut Pro or software equivalent.

  • Experience with After Effects, Lightroom and Photoshop desirable but not required

  • Understanding of digital media, video technology and post-production workflows

  • Outstanding attention to detail

  • Well organized and a self-starter

  • Ability to prioritize under time constraints and work successfully in a fast-paced environment

  • Familiar with sound effects and music license maintenance

  • Highly collaborative

  • Ability to astutely communicate solutions

  • Understanding of file systems and database management

  • Extensive experience is not necessary, however, you must have a passion and drive to learn quickly.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work with editors and producers to ingest, convert, sync, and prepare raw footage on a project basis

  • Prepare Premiere projects for projects by ingesting footage, linking media, synchronizing various video edits, organizing clips from script, and cutdown interview footage/audio

  • Collaborate with editors and Video Production Coordinator to assemble project files and relevant video for organizational projects

  • Excellent attention to detail both with shooting style and translating footage through editing visual content

  • Upload content to organization website, Dropbox, YouTube and other business platforms

  • Prepare, edit, and export photo and video content as needed

  • Provide support to editors where needed
